DESCRIPTION:SCAA artist Paula Manning-Lewis is showing her latest series\, “Trees of the Gila” at the Silver City Public Library for the months of August and September. There will be an artist reception on Friday\, September 6th\, 3:00-4:30pm. The reception precedes the monthly First Friday openings at the galleries in downtown Silver City. Stop by to see Paula’s paintings! The series was created to celebrate the Centennial of the Gila Wilderness and was inspired by hiking and backpacking trips deep in the Gila National Forest and thousands of photos taken over the years.

DESCRIPTION:To participate\, fill out entry form online.   \n\nScarecrows can go up 9/19-10/2.\nEach Scarecrow will be assigned a number. Please make the number large enough to be seen from the street.\nPlease also name your scarecrow. Name can be smaller than the number.\nScarecrows must be sturdy and anchored by T-posts or Rebar to withstand the winds in Gila.\nScarecrows will be positioned along NM-211 in front of the Gila Valley Market in Gila under the direction of MaryKate Fowler.\nGila Valley Market will have a voting box displayed on the front porch.  Public can begin voting 10/2-10/30.\n\nWinners will be announced October 30th at the Wednesday farmers market\, and on the Farmers Market Facebook page.
