DESCRIPTION:SCAA artist Paula Manning-Lewis is showing her latest series\, “Trees of the Gila” at the Silver City Public Library for the months of August and September. There will be an artist reception on Friday\, September 6th\, 3:00-4:30pm. The reception precedes the monthly First Friday openings at the galleries in downtown Silver City. Stop by to see Paula’s paintings! The series was created to celebrate the Centennial of the Gila Wilderness and was inspired by hiking and backpacking trips deep in the Gila National Forest and thousands of photos taken over the years.

DESCRIPTION:Although he was born in the industrial heart of New Jersey\, Red’s mother Maggie made damn sure that he would be reared on folk and country music. Red’s father\, a lifelong bass player\, taught him to play the mandolin\, banjo\, bass\, and guitar. Forever restless\, Red ventured through dozens of genres before returning to his Country roots. He ventured out West on the heels of heartbreak and made a home in the high desert of Northern Arizona where he now lives.
