DESCRIPTION:Deming rocks when the RockHound RoundUp comes to town\, devoted to geodes\, gems\, fossils\, quartz and other treasures of the earth. Rock collectors join fossil fans\, jewelry makers\, lapidaries\, quartz traders\, beaders and people who simply admire rocks. The schedule includes a buyer’s market\, silent and live auctions\, displays\, demonstrations and guided field trips for rock collecting and sampling. People travel from all around the world to attend this event\, held at the Southwestern New Mexico State Fairgrounds. No one leaves empty-handed. \nMetal Detecting Contest • Jewelery and Rock Related items • Buyers Market • Lapidary equipment • Displays and Demonstrations • Guided Field trips • Auctions • Coffee\, Donuts\, Breakfast and Lunch Vendors \nFIELD TRIPS\nTrips leave 8:00 a.m. from the Fairgrounds\nPublic Invited on field Trips to\nour club’s claim\, Big Diggins\, and others.\nMaterials found: Onyx\, agate\, geodes & other gem stones. Bring suitable clothing & shoes\, lunch\, water\, and tools. \nAUCTIONS\nFriday Night – 6:30 p.m. Silent Auction\nRockhounds mark bids on auction forms. Items are donated by dealers and members. Available are cutting materials\, slabs\, geodes\, crystals\, gem stones\, etc.\nSaturday Night – 7:00 p.m. Live Auction\nFine specimens\, jewelry\, etc. will be auctioned\, which have been donated by dealers and members.
