Thirteen talented NMSU students from diverse backgrounds were selected to take part in an immersive two-semester program. In July, 2022, the group spent 11 days in a field school in the Gila, making short documentaries about people living and working in the Gila Wilderness. Their films tell stories that reflect the unique natural, cultural and conservation history of the Gila, including indigenous and Latino history. The final films will be premiered On June 1st with a second matinee screening on June 2nd.
